Rainton Village Hall is at the heart of the pretty village of Rainton, North Yorkshire. Situated about 5 miles north-east of Ripon and 5 miles south-west of Thirsk. Rainton Village Hall is a well maintained and versatile space that can provide you with the perfect venue for your event, activity, group meetings or family parties.
Originally built for the Marquis of Ripon in 1872, Rainton Village Hall was formerly used by Rainton Infants School, up until the time of its closure in 1922. Now serving the community, Rainton Village Hall provides a large Main Hall and a Meeting Room, and is an ideal venue for meetings, lectures, family celebrations & birthday parties, for local clubs and social activities, somewhere to meet with friends, enjoy a hobby and maybe take up a new interest.
In the foyer of Rainton Village Hall you will find notice boards detailing community events.
The Main Hall is light and spacious and can accommodate 50 people seated audience theatre style. The main hall has modern projection equipment and a 2.4 metre or 8 foot manual pull down screen, a separate PA system and microphones. A serving hatch allows easy access from the kitchen.
The Meeting Room is a smaller space than the Main Hall and can accommodate 25 people in an audience layout so is perfect for hiring on its own for meetings, business meetings, clubs and smaller events.
Rainton Village Hall is wheelchair accessible and is fully compliant with equality legislation for public buildings.
Rainton Village Hall is available to book weekdays, evenings or over the weekend and is charged on an hourly rate basis. There is a discounted rate for Rainton with Newby parishioners, village clubs and community groups. The management committee meets regularly to discuss issues related to the upkeep of the hall. Rainton with Newby Village Hall does not receive any local authority funding, but relies on hiring revenue and fundraising by volunteers.
